For more than 40 years, we have been working with Nord-Lock when bolt connections need to be secured that are exposed to strong vibrations and dynamic loads.

The principle:

The Nord-Lock wedge locking technology according to DIN 25201 secures screw connections by clamping force instead of friction.

The wedge lock washers have wedge surfaces on the inside and radial ribs on the outside.The angle of the wedge surfaces between the Nord-Lock wedge lock washers is greater than the angle of the thread. In addition, the radial ribs provide a positive fit with the mating material. The washers, glued in pairs, are inserted so that the wedge surfaces lie on top of each other. In addition to the original wedge lock washers, the Nord-Lock range also includes the SC wedge lock washers for steel construction, wheel lock nuts and customised solutions.

The Junker vibration test is the most demanding method to test and compare the safety of bolted connections. The following video shows how different locking elements behave.
